Statue of Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol unveiled in London

A statue of stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol was unveiled in London’s Leicester Square, marking the 30 years of the longest-running film in Indian cinema, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, starring both actors.

The 1995 film, often dubbed the Romeo and Juliet of Bollywood cinema, follows Raj and Simran’s love story across Europe and India – and features Leicester Square.

The statue joins sculptures of Bridget Jones, Harry Potter, Gene Kelly in Singin’ in the Rain, Mary Poppins and Batman as part of Leicester Square’s Scenes in the Square trail.
